Kidnapping 11 Youths- Karannagoga’s Writ Petition Adjourned till 17 May



The Attorney General informed the Court of Appeal on the 4th March that further study is being carried out on the writ petition filed by former navy commander Wasantha Karannagoda.

The additional solicitor general has stated this when the petition filed by the former navy commander seeking an interim injunction suspending the trial filed against him in the High court.

Former Navy Commander is accused of involvement in the disappearance of  11 youths case involved by naval officers.  It was revealed that few navy officers and soldiers have abducted 11 youths including few students for demanding ransom. Having learnt their families are unable to pay the ransom, the youths might have been killed by the same naval officers, as assumed by the parents.
