A military spokesman Brigadier Nilantha Premaratne says that an investigation is underway into the involvement of an army officer and a group in a clash at a hotel in Miriswatta, Gampaha.

A video of a uniformed army officer involved in the incident circulating on social media. He further stated that disciplinary actions would be taken against those responsible for this incident as they do not approve of any sort of undisciplined actions taken by the Army officers or other ranks.
