India’s COVID Vaccine to Lanka; Is Big Brother Striking Political Vaccination?



(TopNews) Sri Lanka hurriedly approved the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine which was outsourced to India to manufacture in large scale. However initially, Sri Lanka was omitted from the list of countries India provide its vaccine.
It is an open secret that Sri Lanka’s relation with its mighty big harbour is in rough land due to the ongoing economic and political issues. India’s Adani group, a close ally of Prime Minister Modi and chief financer of Modi politics, keen to acquire 49 per cent of Colombo Harber’s busy East Container Terminal (ECT)
Informed sources said that India’s external affairs minister’s recent sudden visit to Sri Lanka was linked to this deal. The minister empathized India’s urgency to seal the deal.
The political circle is querying whether India uses its vaccine availability power to press Sri Lanka to expedite the ECT deal.
The Amnesty International, in its latest communique, criticize countries with COVID vaccine availability power, use it for their political gain.
