The Cabinet has unanimously approved the political victimization committee report and decided to implement its decisions, the government publication ‘Dinamina’ newspaper reported.
One of the report’s significant outlines was that ex-parliamentarian Duminda Silva’s death sentence was as politically motivated ruling. The committee suggests to offer him a presidential pardon, the report stated.
The committee was appointed to examine previous ‘good governance’ government affairs.
The committee also decided that many institutions, created in previous government were acted short sited to hunt opposition politicians and officers.
Therefore their rulings and decisions should be overturned, the committee report said.
