A rehearsal for the swearing-in ceremony of the new US President Joe Biden scheduled on the 17th was cancelled at the last minute.
Despite special security measures being taken across the country, the rehearsal was cancelled due to security risk and any reschedule of the rehearsal has not yet been announced.
It was announced that the important event in the country’s politics, will be held with the participation of popular artists.
Among the invited guests are Jennifer Lopez and Lady Gaga, two of the most popular performing artists in the United States and around the world.
Lady Gaga, an actress, beauty and fashion designer, has been invited to sing the US National Anthem at her swearing – in ceremony on January 20. Jennifer Lopez will be performing a musical extravaganza on the west front of the Capitol where the event will take place.
Biden, 78, will then be sworn in as the country’s 46th president. Kamala Harris, 56, will be sworn in as Vice President of the United States.
However, for a number of reasons, this is not a typical opening ceremony. Not only will this new appointment come amid the Corona epidemic, but it will mark a special day in U.S. history due to the special security arrangements in place following last week’s violent intervention by a group of Trump-backed thugs who stormed the Capitol.
Currently, the authorities have tightened security at all state institutions and public places on information provided by intelligence channels that Trump-sponsored violence will spread.
More than 10,000 National Guard troops are stationed in the Capitol, Washington DC, where the swearing-in ceremony is to be held, and another 5,000 are kept standby, according to local media.
