2500 Individuals Arrested for Violating Quarantine Laws.

Police media spokesman Ajith Rohana stated that more than 2,500 people had been arrested in the past months connected with the operation carried out island-wide, including in the Western Province.

They were arrested for not wearing masks and not keeping social distance. He added that 48 people were identified as Covid19 positive after PCR tests and rapid antigen tests.

According to him, operations had been launched to arrest those who violate the quarantine rules since 30 October and there will be prosecution in addition to the PCR and rapid antigen tests.
