Basil Rajapaksha, chief of the Presidential Task Force of Economic Development, said that bringing in Ukrainian tourists to the country is to test whether the virus is contagious.
He said this on ‘Salakuna’ program on Hiru TV. ‘Everything that happens there is videotaped, and the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Tourism and the Army have been deployed’, he further added.
According to him, the only condition imposed in regulating was that they do not breed the virus in Sri Lanka, and they would not get the virus from here. We deliberately do some experiments in some places he further added. According to the president’s target, twenty hundred thousand tourists would have to come to achieve the targeted profit. This target is only available if that number is reached to Lanka.
When he was asked that Ukraine was the best approach, he said that we could not bring tourists from another country, to see if it spreads.
