The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) says that if there is no immediate solution to the salary issue, they will resort to trade union action from today (02).
The union has said it would take this action if the newly appointed cabinet sub-committee does not find a solution to the salary issue.
Minister Mangala Samaraweera, Ranjith Madduma Bandara, Vajira Abeywardena, Rajitha Senaratne and State Minister Ashok Abeysinghe were among those appointed to the subcommittee last week.
The GMOA says that this salary problem has not been solved for two years.
