Attempt to Divert Avant-Garde Investigations through the Audio Recording of Dilrukshi Dias

Solicitor General Dilrukshi Dias Wickremasinghe has been suspended for allegedly having a controversial telephone conversation with Nissanka Senadhipathi. Senior Assistant Solicitor General Sanjaya Rajaratnam has been appointed to cover the duties of her post.

Public Service Commission has been requested to conduct a disciplinary inquiry against Dilrukshi Dias Wickremesinghe under the Establishments Code by the attorney General yesterday(23).

The Attorney General has requested the Public Service Commission to look into the confession made by Dilrukshi Dias Wickremasinghe and other matters related to the telephone conversation during the disciplinary inquiry into the allegations.

The Public Service Commission has also been requested to appoint a qualified officer to conduct a disciplinary inquiry into the telephone conversation conducted by the Solicitor General.

An audio clip, including a telephone conversation of Nissanka Senadhipathi, president of Avant Garde, with the Solicitor General, was broadcast on the social media network while he is receiving treatment at a hospital in Singapore due to a medical condition.

The Attorney General’s Department has called for an inquiry into whether the telephone conversation contained in the video, released on social media by Nissanka Senadhipathi is true.

It is rumored that Nissanka Senadhipathi had deliberately tried to use the telephone conversation to interfere with the investigation and referendum on the charges against him.
