The representatives of the Integrated Unions of Sri Lanka Universities say that the non-acadamic university workers are going to launch a continued strike campaign from 10 of September. They revealed this facts in a media conference in which, 25 union representatives of 15 universities participated.
During this course of strike campaign, the entire non-acadamic staff would be off from the all duties. According to the union representatives, the non-acadamic staff having number of anomalies of their salaries.The 10,000 Rs salary increased differences, they have been depriving since 2016, compare with the other state workers but so far this problem was not sorted out and the authority showing apathetic response for this since 2016. That is why the Integrated Unions of Sri Lanka university going to call this strike campaign.
The representatives of the unions further says that if they do not get positive response from the authority before the 10th, the Finance Ministry is going to be under siege by the workers of the non-acadamic unions with the help of all other sections of workers.
