Chief Justice Has granted permission to the Bribery Commission to file an indictment against Former Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage over allegations of using carom boards and sports equipment for political activities.
Mr. Aluthgamage has been accused of spending Rs 400 million belonging to the Sports Development Department, for importing checker boards and carrom boards for distributing during the 2015 presidential elections.
The Chief Justice had also permitted the Bribery Commission to file charges against former CWE chairman Nalin Fernando.
The permission is granted due to a request made by the Bribery Commission to file an action against them.
