Three new acting ministers were appointed today(11) for the portfolios vacant after Muslim minsters resigned as a result of allegations of extremist links.
Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce Buddhika Pathirana, was sworn in as Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, Resettlement, Co-operative Development and Vocational Training and Skills Development, which was previously held by Rishad Bathiudeen.
State Minister of City Planning & Water Supply, Lucky Jayawardana, was appointed as Acting Minister of City Planning & Water Supply and Higher Education, the post which was previously held by Rauff Hakeem.
Deputy Minister of Petroleum Resources Development, Anoma Gamage, was appointed as Acting Minister of Highways & Road Development and Petroleum Resources Development which was held by Kabir Hashim.
Three acting ministers have given oath before the president Maithripala Sirisena at Presidential Secretariat, in the morning today.
