An interim order has been issued by the Court of Appeal that Mahinda Rajapakshe has no legal right to hold his prime ministerial post and the present Cabinet of Ministers.
Meanwhile, the Court of Appeal issued notice on Mahinda Rajapaksha and the present Cabinet of Ministers today (03) to appear in Court of Appeal on the 12th of this month.
The petition has been filed by 122 Members of the UNP, including Ranil Wickremesinghe, requesting a writ order to be issued for Mahinda Rajapaksha and the present Cabinet of Ministers believing that they have no legal rights to hold the positions. This Interim Order is applicable until the petition is heard.
All the submissions were completed at the Court of Appeal today (03) and the court of appeal issued the order at 3 pm.
