It has been revealed that 207 human skeletons have been found from the Mannar mass grave, and that 199 skeletons have been produced for the investigation. These details were revealed when Mannar District Judge R. Swarnaraja inspected the excavations in the mass grave on Monday the 29th.
The excavations were permitted by the Manner Court after discovering human bones from the state-owned CWA building site in last March. It has been revealed that skeletal remains of women, boys and children have been found among the skeletal remains.
Due to the rain that plunges into the area, the mining activities have been obstructed and therefore steps have also been taken to construct tents to protect the excavation area.
