It was reported official term of the Constitutional Council was ended on 21st September.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe, Speaker Karu Jayasooriya and Leader of the House Laxman Kiriella who became members by the council officially will not end their positions along with Mahinda Samarasinghe who was officiated to the council recently. However, other members who were appointed to the council will end their terms. Accordingly, parliamentary sources revealed Messer’s Thilak Marapana, WDJ Seneviratne and other civil activists would end their positions as members.
Speaker and the general secretary of the parliament are having discussions to appoint new members to the council it was reported.
