The Commissioner of Examinations states that the intention of appointing Army officers and retired Army officers to the GCE Advanced Level examination duties has been suspended. This decision was taken at a discussion with Teachers Trade Union representatives last Thursday.
Trade Unions points out that Teachers have been instructed to properly conduct the examinations, and if there are any shortcomings, it is an official problem.
This decision was taken in view of objections raised over the use of soldiers instead of teachers.
