The kidney patients who are being treated at the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital are in danger due to the lack of saline supplies. The type of Saline, used as an alternative to treat the patients suffering from Kidney disease in Rajarata area, is called CAPD (Continue Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis).
Since the saline has not been available for the Kidney Diseases Unit of the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital for weeks, the life of patients who undergo treatments have been severely threatened.
It is evident that the State Pharmaceuticals Supply Division has not taken proper action to import this saline. Even multinational companies that import drugs to make profits seem to have neglected it.
