The Chinese Ambassador has responded for the report which published in New York Times about the dodgy deal with Mahinda Rajapaksha to achieve the Hambanthota Harbour project succeeded. According to the Chinese Ambassador Chen-Kshu-Yuwan, China is very enthusiastic about Sri Lanka’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity but opposing to intervene for the country’s international affairs.
The admirations from the Sri Lankan people towards the Chinese support and generosity for the finishing of the war as well as re-construtions, are really courageous.
The Ambassador further commented on his expression that, in spite of the all impediments and the intervention from the third parties, the Chinese government continues it’s projects according to the agreements of two country leaders.
However, the Ambassador carefully prevented from stating anything about New York Times article. He neither denied nor accepted the allegation of supplying funds for Mahinda Rajapaksha’s presidential election campaign. Instead of putting any comment regarding that deal, he empathised that Chinese policy on Sri Lanka would be going ahead to make benefits for both sides.
