It is reported that the government has decided to increase the particular trade tax on Dhal imports since yesterday (9).
Accordingly, the tax has increased from Rs3 to Rs12 for one kilo of polished dhal, and further tax increased from Rs1 to Rs.7 for unpolished dhal for another six months. Ministry of finance declared.
It is evident that the present government of Ranil- Maithree, is imposing indirect taxes on goods and services while giving burden of the entire economic crisis on the public. However, they came into power saying that they would follow Saradiyel style economic policy by taxing wealthy and working for the poor.
