Government Delegation Left For Geneva Human Rights Session !

It was reported government delegation left for Geneva to participate at the 37th UN session of the Human Rights Council. Delegation consist of Foreign minister Thilak Marapana, Special Projects minister Dr Sarath Amunugama and Provincial Council minister Faizer Mustapa. Delegation also included officials from foreign ministry and the attorney generals department.

UN session was started on the 26th of February and scheduled to be finished on the 23rd of March. A special report prepared regarding the human rights situation in Sri Lanka is scheduled to be presented to the session by the human rights commissioner prince Said Rad Al Hussain. In his initial address regarding worldwide situation he has already insist the process of accountability with regard to human rights situation in Sri Lanka required to be strengthened. Report was to be ratified by the session later. However, foreign minister of Sri Lanka also expected to be expressed his views at the session.
