The government has launched a conspiracy to restore the ‘SAITM’ by affiliating to SLIIT by breaching promises to abolish the SAITM. They have made the promises as a response to the massive opposition that blown up among the public.
Health Minister Dr Rajitha Senaratne yesterday publicly announced that the students who are studying at SAITM at present would be able to complete their studies in an institution affiliated to SLIIT. However, Harsha de Silva committee has promised to close down the SAITM before 31st December 2017, and it would not be taken up in any other way.
Along with this; the protest campaigns by the medical faculty students’ committee and the parents of the medical students were terminated as Harsha de Silva committee wrote a promise in writing on behalf of the Government.
The student movement announced that it was necessary to allow the health professions to introduce Medical Faculties at the Sabaragamuwa, Wayamba or Moratuwa Universities that would initiate SAITM students.
But the government is now urging to reach its objectives to make plans for success in selling the education.
