The Free Trade Agreement between China and Lanka is scheduled to be signed this year Chinese premier Li Keqiang announced.

He announced this when he greeted Lankan counterpart at the Chinese capital.  He pledged that the assistance would be extended to Lankan government in its attempt to develop in transport, finance and commerce with an aim to become a Centre of Indian Ocean. Lankan government have right to chose what to prioritize, if the service economy be it he said.

However, there is a notion that while the attempts are continuing to revive the service sector Agriculture and Industries have always been ignored. It would be subjugation the economy to another superpower and to miss once again a chance to revive productive aspects of country’s economy.
