EU Council of Ministers approve GSP Plus for Sri Lanka


The Foreign and Trade Ministers Council of the European Union (EU) has approved Sri Lanka’s GSP Plus application, foreign news agencies reported.

The government had complied with dozens of conditions before claim the trade concessions that EU approves for the countries who export goods and services to its member countries. Leaders of the government pointed the loss of GSP concession as the reason for the crisis they are entangled. Lankan government also gave a huge propaganda a few months back saying they won the GSP plus.  Later it was revealed that 27 specific conditions to be fulfilled by the applicant nation to be qualified to be recipient of  GSP plus status.
